This thing really does the trick.

"A pond builder must have. Moved and set over 20 boulders from a half ton to 2 tons in just one day and only 3 people. They can be twisted and rolled right into place, just watch your fingers! I bought a second one just in case, wouldn’t want to be without."

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth the price?
Having the right machinery, tools and attachments saves time and money. Boulder Buddy® will save you thousands of dollars of wasted time. No more pre-strapping boulders, no more trapped straps, 1 attachment that does it all.
What size do I need?
The Boulder Buddy® is available in three capacities — BB 4000 (4,000 lbs), BB 8000 (8,000 lbs), and BB 12000 (12,000 lbs). Choose based on the capacity of your machine. All sizes will handle boulders from 200 pounds up to their rating.
Will it work on my machine?
If your equipment has a bucket attachment point, it's likely compatible. Rather than list every machine, reach out with your make and model and we'll confirm before you order.
Why not just use straps, tow straps, or chains?
They aren't engineered for this application. Using them requires additional hardware, significant adjustment time, and almost always results in straps trapped under the boulder after placement. The Boulder Buddy® is purpose-built to eliminate all of that — pick it up, place it, move onto the next boulder. Home-grown solutions always take longer and require significant assembly and dis-assembly.
Will it scratch or chip my boulders?
No! It's engineered specifically to protect stone surfaces from pickup to placement. No chains, no steel contact, no marks on the boulder.
How long does it last?
The Boulder Buddy® is a wear-and-tear item but will have a huge return on your investment. It's made with rugged materials that perform profitably throughout its service life. For boulders with sharp edges, using pond liner as a barrier between the boulder and the Boulder Buddy® is a simple technique that can help prolong the life of the attachment. Proper tightening and adjustment will also prolong it’s useful life.
What does mil spec mean?
It refers to both the origin and quality of the materials. All materials are USA-sourced and meet the highest quality standards available, originally designed to be able to be used by the US Military.
I see other products that seem similar — why buy yours?
Purpose-built for the landscape industry with almost infinite adjustability. No hydraulic hoses, no bolts, no grease fittings. Cost-effective, lightweight, short learning curve for new employees, and designed to make you more profitable — not just get the job done.
I have a small machine — can you make these shorter?
Yes. We have attachment configurations that shorten the system without compromising the materials or lift capacity. Contact us with your equipment specs and we'll work through the right setup.
Are the products labeled for use?
Yes. All products are tagged with weight ratings and operational cautions for safe use.

First stone lifted was a 5’x10’ flagstone slab we placed on top of a grotto. Very secure lift. Highly satisfied.
Wow we moved over 16 massive boulders so far in a matter of 4 hours! Really works well. The smaller ones where much harder to get the straps to stay on but everything has a learning curve. Highly recommend
The Boulder Buddy sling worked perfectly. I was going make my own but this product is well worth the price. The quality is excellent and I’m sure it will last for many uses. Thanks!
Arrived on time. Package came undamaged. Our crew said it works great and better than the rubber device we were using prior to move boulders and large rocks. 10/10 recommend. Maybe a little pricey.
Works great amd saves time.
I work alone and the boulder buddy saved me a ton of time.
It worked great. It is very heavy duty. I used it by myself with a small compact backhoe. It is tough, I used the bucket to scoop up a rock with boulder buddy still under it, figuring i would rip it or something, and it didn't get harmed. I figured out how to take advantage of the excess length and how to wrap excess length to my advantage.

5 star Company with very fast shipping and very helpful employees, Tim was awesome, thanks Steve
Thank you, Steve! We'll pass that along to Tim — he'll be glad to hear it. We appreciate the kind words and your business!
Doesn't work well on flat boulders. You have to pry up one end at a time to get the strap loop underneath. Once you do that it works well.
Thanks for the honest feedback, John. You're right — flat boulders require a little extra setup to get the strap loop positioned underneath. Appreciate you sticking with it. If you ever have questions on technique for specific boulder shapes, don't hesitate to reach out directly.
