Congratulations on the purchase of the Pro-Safe Lift 3500! By taking a few minutes to read this manual and a few minutes to practice using the Pro-Safe Lift 3500, you will wonder how you ever functioned without it!

It is important to recognize that this is a new piece of equipment. By reading these instructions and then allowing yourself a little bit of practice you will begin to reap the benefit of this amazing forked machine add-on.

The first part of the instructions are warnings!

Warning: The weight rating on this product is 3500 lbs. per set. DO NOT lift
pallets that weight more than 3500 lbs. or 1.75 tons!

  • ONLY TRAINED OPERATORS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE MACHINES!

  • MACHINES SHOULD ONLY BE OPERATED ON SURFACES SUITABLE FOR THAT
    MACHINE!

  • THE PRO-SAFE LIFT 3500 MAY COMPLICATE LOAD DISTRIBUTION SO CARE
MUST BE TAKEN WHILE USING THE SYSTEM!

  • DO NOT EXCEED THE LOAD LIFTING RATING OF YOUR MACHINE!

  • THE PRO-SAFE LIFT 3500 CAN LIFT UP TO 3500 POUNDS--FAILURE TO MOVE THAT
LOAD RESPONSIBLY CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!

Now that you are ready to use the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 Safely, here's how it's done---

The first diagram identifies the parts of the Pro-Safe Pallet Lift System and a pallet.

A. Lifting eyes-Ballistic nylon wrapped for strength and durability
B. Lifting strap-doubled for strength and durability, 5’ long
C. Lifting bar-covered by rugged ballistic nylon sleeve, 48” long
D. Pallet-wooden, plastic or metal
E. Fork pockets

(Diagrams as per above)

  • The solid side of the lifting bar is identified with a solid white stitched line. The articulating side of the lifting bar is blank or contains rating information. The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 only bends in one direction-that's patent pending and is where the magic happens!

The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 can be deployed and retracted in 5 easy steps!

  • The first step is to position the forks of your machine over the top of the pallet. The closer the forks are to the top of the palletized material, the easier it will be to attach the lifting eyes to the forks. The pallet should be staged close to the truck, trailer, or obstacle.

The lifting clearance between the machine and the pallet is similar to the clearance while on the
ground. This is a reliable way to measure clearance.

  • Step 2

The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 is to be deployed through the longest side of the pallet through the fork pockets (see figure 1). The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 has a lifting bar that is 48" long and is intended to distribute the weight of the pallet over that length. As much of the lifting bar should be covered by the pallet as possible! The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 can be damaged if it is deployed through the short side of the pallet (if the pallet is a four-way pallet) and that damage may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty (see figure 2).

  • The deployment and retraction of the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 can be accomplished as either a solid bar (identified by the solid line) or as a bendable bar in confined spaces of 12" or less! (See figures 3 and 4). After deployment as a bendable bar, simply flip the system so that the solid bar side (indicated with solid lines) faces up.

  • IT IS IMPORTANT TO TEST THE LOAD YOU ARE LIFTING TO ENSURE THE STABILITY OF YOUR FORKED MACHINE. BECAUSE YOU ARE MOVING THE LOAD AWAY FROM THE MACHINE IT CAN AFFECT THE STABILITY OF YOUR MACHINE CAUSING IT TO BECOME LESS STABLE.

  • The first way to attach the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 to your forked machine is with a straight attachment (see figure 5). This method means that the rear lifting eye is closest to the machine and the front lifting eye is closest to the end of the forks. The straight attachment provides the lease amount of separation from the machine but can still provide 12” or more of separation. This method of attachment has the eye attachment directly above the lifting bar and allows the
operator to lift the pallet without concern for the alignment of the system.

  • This method of attachment has the eye attachment directly above the lifting bar and allows the operator to lift the pallet without concern for the alignment of the system.

  • The second way to attach the Pro-Safe Pallet Lift System to your forked machine is with a crossed-eye attachment (see figure 6). This method means that the front lifting eye is attached first and is closest to the machine, and that the rear lifting eye is attached second and is closest to the end of the forks. The crossed-eye attachment provides the greatest amount of separation from the machine, providing up to 24” or more of separation and is best used with pallets that have 3 or more fork pockets.

  • You are now ready to lift the palletized material and lift it into its final destination.

With the cross-eyed method of attachment it is important to understand that as the system is raised from slack to load bearing, there is a small window of opportunity for the lifting bars to swing toward the center of the pallet (see figure 7). This free hanging movement is easily avoided with a bit of practice. With the cross-eyed attachment method it is important to raise the forks from slack to weight bearing in a smooth but quick movement. The quicker you raise the forks the less time the lifting bar has to swing out of alignment. With the cross-eyed attachment, you may require a bit of assistance to keep the lifting bars of the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 spread until they are under weight.

  • WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PRO-SAFE LIFT 3500 FOR LONG TRANSPORT OF PALLETIZED MATERIAL. KEEP THE PALLET CLOSE TO THE GROUND, AND CONTROL SPEEDS WHILE STARTING, STOPPING AND TURNING TO ENSURE SAFE OPERATION.

  • BE AWARE OF THE PROXIMITY OF YOUR FORKED MACHINE TO THE VEHICLES, TRAILER, FENCES, WALLS AND OTHER VERTICAL OBSTRUCTIONS WHILE LIFTING PALLETS OVER THEM TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE.

  • Step 5

After lowering the load, continue to lower the forks until the lift straps are slack and back your forked machine out of the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 lifting eyes. You can now remove the Pro-Safe Lift 3500 from the pallet as either a solid or articulated bar.

  • STORAGE, CARE AND INSPECTION

The Pro-Safe Lift 3500 is made in the U.S.A., so it’s tough! The protective sleeve on the lift protects it
from dirt, water and other contaminants. We know pallet moving can be a dirty job. That being said,
take good care of the system. As the saying goes, “Take good care of your tools, and they’ll take good
care of you!” Follow this list of suggestions:

    1. Store the system is a dry area, preferably in its black plastic case.
    2. Keep is away from knives, razors and other sharp objects that may cut or damage the system
    3. Keep the system away from high heat sources greater than 120 degrees Fahrenheit
    4. Visually inspect the system for damage before each use
    5. Remove the system from service immediately if it looks or acts damaged and contact us for
replacement options. Contact us at info@linkmastersllc.com
